3rd Sunday of Lent

I can only speak for myself, but all I can say about the Parish Mission is WOW! I felt the Holy Spirit moving in a most palpable and beautiful way. Jesus was present - as He promised - when 2-3 are gathered in His Name and I think we ended up over 500 gathered together on Night 3. He also walked among us in the Eucharist and we proclaimed and heard and shared His Word. Take a look at the pictures we included in this week’s bulletin and if you were with us, please share your experience with those who weren’t able to attend this year.

The Missionaries from Franciscan University Steubenville led us in worship music and I think we all discovered what real Church comedy sounds like thanks to Chris Padgett (don’t worry, I was taking copious notes!) The theme of this year’s Mission was “The Missing Piece: What Are You Searching For?” Over the course of the three nights we heard about Our Father and what God’s Love and Design looks like for each of us and as a Church. We also heard Chris remind us a few times that although we sometimes have strong emotions in our encounter with the Lord, Jesus is not an emotion or an idea … He is a Person! We have met Him and love Him. Of course, He loved us first and saved us. Now Jesus sends us to share the Good News that He is the Missing Piece and anyone who finds themselves drifting or hopeless or even just searching for a point to life can find so much meaning and so much love by opening their Heart to Jesus Christ. And, as Grandma always said, there’s no time like the present!

We’ll be sharing testimonies from parishioners who came to The Mission over the coming weeks. In the meantime, we offer a lot of thanksgiving to the Lord for His goodness, to the parish’s Mission Leaders for their time and dedication, and to you all for your prayers. Laudetur Jesus Christus! Praised be Jesus Christ, now and forever!

Father David
